One way NOT to fix it is by changing the game, and options DO change the game. All this is doing is alienating the current player base from your new versions.
I agree documentation is and has been a problem, however that is a lot of work, and no one seems to want to step up and take the reigns in that area.
The MAJORITY of the player bas was alienated when TWX became public.

Incorrect. The majority of the players bought into it, bought cherokee's scripts, and learned how to use them. Those who didn't left.

I suppose the majority of the world population retreated when the car replaced the horse and buggy, or when high speed internet replaced dial up, or when electricity replaced kerosene lanterns, or the sewing machine replaced sewing by hand. All things change and people either learn to change with it or stay with what makes them comfortable. If that means those that do not know how to script or cannot learn to script have to go without, that is THEIR choice. Trying to take a faucet of the game away that was allowed to happen is not the solution.

The MAJORITY of the player bas [sic] was alienated when TWX became public.
What a complete load of baloney! I don't even know
where to start! Do you really presume to speak for
the majority of tradewars players?
Do you intend to convince us that you knew them
(the MAJORITY of the player bas ?)
TWX was first a secret weapon, and you're saying that
when it became free for the public...that's what alienated
the MAJORITY of -- wait, you mean someone releases
a free helper program, and That's what alienated
the player base.
Didn't the internet kinda come around, along with Blizzard
and MMORG's? Don't you think they had something to
do with a distracted player base? Maybe X-Box and
PlayStation had another fraction of the geeks attracted
to TW2002?

Well said. Tradewars is a text based game and these type games aren't really popular among younger people. There are NOT thousands of newbies waiting on JP to fix it so they can compete, there are just a handfull of people that look at TW and decide it's too much work to learn to play competitively. Yet Cruncher and JP seem to think that the current player base isn't as important as these handfull of people that post on facebook.

I would go one further just to say it's Cruncher on the crusade now. Since JP is cock blocking her now.
